13 Reasons Why season 2
May 25, 2018
On May 18th, the highly anticipated second season of 13 Reasons Why was released on Netflix. This season follows the same characters as they go through trial for the tragic death of Hannah Baker. This season shows a different side and point of view of Hannah Baker and shows a more personal view than the previous season.
One character is featured in each episode and it explores them personally and their interactions with Hannah Baker. The original book series by Jay Asher ends with the events of season 1, but season 2 dissects this story even more, so what we see are sides of this complex story.
There is a warning in the beginning for those going through the problems featured in the series to seek help and to watch with assistance. Those planning to watch it should definitely make sure they watch season 1 and get ready to investigate this story and to observe the conditions that escalated to the point where someone took their own life.
This series is highly recommended and should only be watched if the viewer is personally ready to handle the hard-hitting issues that are talked about. This show is very informative and could be enjoyed by many.
Note: The image accompanying this article is a semicolon, which a lot of the 13 Reasons Why cast members got a tattoo of. The semicolon tattoo has become a symbol to help the prevention of suicide and to bring awareness to mental illnesses that many suffer from. According to www.semicolontattoo.com, its significance is that the an author chose to continue the sentence rather than ending it abruptly, a metaphor for lives cut short due to depression and suicide.
