NBC’s popular 2005 sitcom The Office made its departure from Netflix shortly after the arrival of the new year. Its new streaming service, Peacock, has promised unseen footage and a collection of the series’ best moments as a warm welcome.

A new previously deleted scene from the final season of the show was released, which includes a five minute clip of characters Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) playing a Matrix prank on Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson).

Throughout the series, Jim Halpert did not shy away from constructing broad stunts to play on Dwight, which had been a fan favorite recurrence. During the clip, key elements of the 1999 Sci-fi movie The Matrix were recreated in order to get a reaction out of Jim’s coworker. The famous black cat glitch that occurs during the film was included, which caught Dwight and the audience’s attention.

The joke continued on, capturing a routine similar to The Matrix‘s character Morpheus, who is played by Hugh Dane in the NBC prank. Because the scene would have aired after Dwight’s proposal, his reaction is a complete backfire on Jim’s plan. Dwight decides to take the blue pill, another reference to the popular franchise, which is the opposite of what the audience and coworkers would have expected from such a character.

The unseen clip can be watched by fans here. More deleted footage and playlists can be found on Peacock, where the series will be located for the next five years to come.
