After months of hard work and practice from both the cast and crew, this year’s spring musical Tuck Everlasting has finally taken the stage for three shows.
Tuck Everlasting is a play about 11-year-old Winnie Foster who discovers a magic spring in her forest that belongs to the Tuck family, which allows them to live forever. She goes on an adventure with the youngest son, Jesse Tuck, and learns about life.
At each performance, “Star for a Star”, everlasting water bottles with goodie bags, raffles, tee shirts, and food were all available for sale before the show or during intermission. The show also had a live orchestra which added to the show’s ambiance.
This was an extra special show because it was beloved director Mrs. DiStaulo’s final show with SWMHS. On March 16 during the final show, after the cast took their bows, they took a moment to thank Distaulo for all her work and love for theater. Sayreville theater alumni showed up to show their support. Just like the seniors, she took her final bow and received a gift from the cast. Confetti went up and everyone celebrated all her hard work.
With fun songs, choreography, and an emotional story, the musical Tuck Everlasting was a hit show and a wonderful way to end Mrs. Distaulo’s work for the school.
