Adventures at the Adventure Aquarium

The Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey first opened its gates to the public on February 29, 1992. During that first year, they received 1.6 million visitors.

On February 25, 2021, I visited the aquarium for the first time, and it was an amazing experience. Although we didn’t have enough time (we got there an hour before it closed), we got to see a majority of the animals.

The first animals we saw were the hippos; they were so nice and seemed to love the attention, especially from the camera.

The next stop were the sharks. I was very excited for this one because I had never seen a shark up close. Unsurprisingly, it was a thrilling experience. I even got to walk to the net above their tank!

I was also very excited for the penguins, and they were so well-mannered. They each had a number/name and once their name/number was called, they would step forward to get their food.

The last stop was the stingrays. I even got to touch one, and it was sort of slimy.

I will admit, I felt kind of guilty and sad because some of the animals looked sad and trapped, but I also know that they are being taken care of.

Overall, this was an experience that I will never forget, and I can’t wait to go there again next time.
