Every year, almost everyone sets a list of goals they wish to complete in the new year. We’ve all done it, and you probably have, too. Did you achieve your goals by the end of the year? This is the part that gets everyone. Not many people actually stick with their goals throughout the year.

So why do we make new resolutions every year? Well, it gives us some motivation to start, but once the motivation dies off, so does achieving the goal. Here are some tips to help you actually fulfill your goals for the upcoming new year:

1.) Make them measurable and realistic. Haven’t we all made goals that we want to achieve, but aren’t actually practical? For example, if you try to run a marathon with no running experience, you’ve set yourself up for failure from the beginning. Your goals don’t have to be grand, they have to be what you can achieve to make yourself a better person.

2.) Track your progress. I suggest using a journal and tracking every step you accomplish. By tracking the progress of your accomplishments, you’ll be even more motivated to achieve your long-term goal.

3.) Don’t give up and keep trying. They may seem easy to achieve when writing them on paper, but physically achieving your goals is much, much harder. It may be almost impossible for some. However, anyone can achieve any goal if they set their mind to it. Even if your goal takes months, or maybe longer than a year to complete, the reward will be so worth it.
