On April 24 the 2025 – 2026 Sayreville War Memorial High School Spring Pep Rally was hosted for the students and staff to see. Located at the War Memorial Stadium, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors were split across four different sections on the bleachers, while the staff and administration was around and on the field taking photos, giving orders, and making sure every event was carried out smoothly.
Every single sports team in the school were shown off here. This includes both the boys version and the girls version of the teams. The sports include the Winter and Spring Track, Wrestling, Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Flag Football, Baseball, Unified, Lacrosse, Softball, Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Soccer, and the Step Team.
Connor Hector, member of the Boys Lacrosse team and said the following it was “pretty fun.”
Other events were a Tied Sac Race, Box Tower Stacking Race, Rolling Table Race, Wavy Students, Wig Battle, Rock Paper Scissors Battle Royale Championships, a show performed by the step team, a show by the Cheerleaders, and Zorb Battle Soccer. The winner of the Sac Race and the Box Tower Stacking Race was “Team Yellow Wigs”. Cyan Wigs won the table roller. Finally, the Purple Cobras won the Zorb Battle Soccer.
My opinion of the Spring pep rally was that it was pretty fun. Watching everything go down all at once is very satisfying to watch. The Zorb Battle Soccer event wasn’t even about soccer. This is because most of the time, people were knocking people down or being knocked down themselves. The Box Tower Stacking Race was entertaining when a tower fell down. And, don’t even get me started on the cheerleading and step shows. These performances were peak. 10/10 rating from me.
In summary, this Pep Rally was awesome and I’m hoping they can keep up the good thoughts in the next pep rally next year.
