Another year has begun at Sayreville War Memorial and with this new year comes many changes. For one, Dr. Labbe, who served as the high school’s interim principal last year, was replaced by a previous vice principal, Mr. Rubino.

Even though there is a new principal, not too many rules have changed, but there is a very important one that has been implemented. Last year, the school installed metal detectors and after a couple days of trial and error, it has been working well since.

As students continue going through the metal detectors in the mornings, the school has also given students an ID so they can swipe in. These badges must be worn all day and students might eventually use them to swipe into different places, like bathrooms.
