From November 21-22, the Sayreville War Memorial High School Theatre Society launched their big production of PUFFS, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.
Tickets were sold at the door. There were photo ops for audience members in the foyer, and t-shirts and concessions for sale.
Students who attended the show had only good things to say about it.
“It was a very enjoyable, interesting and unique take on Harry Potter, said Sara Rafique, junior. “I was engaged the whole time and I loved the energy!”
Many others agreed with her.
“It was very interesting,” said Aida Tula, sophomore.
Audience members felt the actors put a lot of effort into the show.
“The play was amazing and the actors were fantastic!” said Abby Adjei, sophomore.
Noelle Cleary, sophomore, agreed, saying, “The actors all put so much effort and it shows.”
Crew members who worked on the show also had great things to say about it.
“I was able to have to opportunity to work backstage in theater, said Gabby Ascolese, sophomore. “My personal experience with the show was a great time. The cast and crew are amazing and I loved the friendships I developed with all of them.
“Watching my friends on stage was one of the most enjoyable parts especially seeing their creativity with their improve,” Ascolese added. “Being able to cheer on my friends and help backstage with quick changes of props or even emotional support was something I appreciated helping with, and loved to do again. I loved the play and had a blast, they all did amazing with their performances.”
