Olivia Rodrigo is a pop artist who got her start acting but is now a well known and successful singer. Rodrigo has released 2 studio albums, Sour (2021) and Guts (2023), and after two long years she is releasing her third album you seem pretty sad for a girl so love on June 12.
Fans began to expect an album announcement when locks turned up around the world with OR logos. Then one of Rodrigo’s walls near her studio began being painted pink rather than its usual purple. Soon after, the word ‘love’ was written on the wall, which people expected to be the album title since Rodrigo liked having four letter albums. But eventually the album’s title was written on the wall. Some thought this was lyrics not the actual title since it was so long and unexpected.
The album title being so long is what left most fans so shocked. In many earlier interviews Olivia Rodrigo said she liked having four letter albums, so many assumed this album would be called Luck or Love due to earlier hints. The long title and change from the purple color scheme to the pink has fans excited for a new era of music.
The album cover has Rodrigo in the pink dress that she wore for her performance on SNL, but no one knew at the time that it would be used on the album. She is also on a swing on the cover which reminded long time fans of the intro song in Rodrigo’s show Bizaardvark.
So far there has been no announcement of a single, but fans expect one with a music video given her previous albums. The track list is not out yet either but Genius Lyrics currently has a list of potential song titles based on interviews, social media posts, and other promotions.
Fans are excited for this era of Olivia and cannot wait to see what this new era of music will sound like.
